![]() Now Playing: Company of Heroes Video Review ![]() ![]() The frenzied combat of World War II is translated believably into Relic's lavishly produced, fast-paced real-time strategy game.īy clicking 'enter', you agree to GameSpot's So if you're unfazed by any of that, you'll find that this latest real-time strategy game from the developers of Homeworld and Warhammer 40,000: Dawn of War is one of the best, most dramatic and exciting examples in years. Company of Heroes trades a wide breadth of content for an extremely detailed look at WWII-era ground combat, and its action is so fast paced that it's best suited for the reflexes of an experienced RTS player. This and the game's highly authentic-looking presentation are its distinguishing features, and it boasts some frantic, well-designed strategic and tactical combat to match. Many other recent WWII games have also drawn influence from Steven Spielberg's landmark film, but Company of Heroes is even more graphic. Set during the invasion of Normandy toward the end of the war, Company of Heroes takes its cues from Saving Private Ryan, by portraying both the sheer brutality of the war as well as the humanity of its combatants. So, you can either wait for retail, at some unknown time, or do a late pledge now and wait for your game to arrive in the mail possibly within the next 2 months.Company of Heroes is a visually stunning real-time strategy game that depicts all the violent chaos of World War II with uncommon intensity. I didn't look too much into this game, but one possibility about the Kickstarter games, is that they won't go into retail, but a quick search on this one is stating that it will eventually go into retail in stores. The last update to this particular game states that people will start receiving their games between late December to late January, which really isn't that bad. Production can take between months, to some even taking a year. The way Kickstarter works, is that you put the money up front, and wait for the game to be produced. Just make a Kickstarter account and click "Late Pledge". However, this particular Kickstarter has the "Late Pledge" option, where you can still back the game and add any extras you want. Usually you have to pledge a certain amount of money, in order for the company to raise money to produce the game, but since the Kickstarter has ended, it is not possible. Looks like the Kickstarter has already ended, and the game is already in production. r/tabletopgamedesign - Designer's subreddit.r/boardgameexchange - selling/buying/trading games.Game of the Week Calendar Related Sites & Subreddits The simplest use is to bold game names in your comment and add " /u/r2d8 getinfo" at the end of the post, but this post/sub has other features identified.
